Editorial Policy

This policy explains how Loan National ID researches, writes, and updates its content, and what standards we hold ourselves to as an independent resource covering financial topics and government identification. Because this site sits at the intersection of two areas where accuracy genuinely matters — personal finance and identity verification — we treat editorial standards as a core part of the site, not an afterthought. This page is meant to be genuinely useful for evaluating our content, not a formality: if something here doesn't match what you observe on a specific page, that's worth reporting through the corrections process below.

Our Standards

How We Select Which Lenders to Feature

When this site names specific loan apps or banks, inclusion is based on a consistent set of criteria: the company must be licensed by the SEC or BSP (verified through official channels, not just the app's own claim), it must have a working, current integration for PhilSys Digital National ID verification (not only the physical card), and it must be an active, operating product accepting new applicants at the time of research. Being mentioned on this site is not paid placement, and it is not an endorsement or a guarantee of a good experience — it reflects that a lender met our inclusion criteria at the time of research. We encourage readers to independently verify a lender's current status before applying, using the same steps we describe in our SEC verification guide.

How Content Gets Written

Most articles start from a specific question a borrower would realistically search for, not from a topic in the abstract. From there, research typically moves through checking the underlying law or regulation directly, then checking how that plays out in a specific lender's actual disclosures, then structuring the article so the direct, practical answer comes first, with supporting detail and caveats after. Where research surfaces conflicting or unreliable sources, we favor official government and regulator sources over commercial or SEO-focused content from other sites, and we're cautious about repeating figures we can't verify even if they appear on multiple other pages.

Corrections

If you notice outdated or inaccurate information anywhere on this site, we want to know, and we treat correction requests as a priority rather than routine maintenance. Email admin@loannationalid.com with details, including a link to the specific page and what you believe is incorrect or outdated. We review correction requests, verify them against a current source, and update the relevant page, noting the revision date. Corrections related to safety issues — for example, a lender that has stopped being SEC-registered, or a newly identified fraud pattern — are prioritized above general accuracy updates.

Update Frequency

Pages listing lenders, requirements, or figures are reviewed on a regular basis, reflected in the "Last updated" date shown at the top or bottom of each article. Legal and regulatory references are checked whenever relevant laws, SEC or BSP rules, or PSA guidance change materially, rather than on a fixed schedule alone — a significant regulatory update (like a new joint advisory on data privacy) can trigger an off-cycle review of related pages. If you're reading a page with an older update date, treat any specific figures on it with extra caution and confirm directly with the lender.

How We Handle Sensitive Topics

Several pages on this site cover fraud, identity theft, and data misuse. On these pages specifically, we avoid naming any specific company as fraudulent or illegitimate without a documented regulatory action against it, since an unsubstantiated claim of that kind could be both inaccurate and legally consequential. Instead, we describe the patterns and tactics associated with fraudulent lending — drawn from regulatory advisories and documented enforcement cases — so readers can evaluate any specific app themselves using the same criteria.

Advertising and Monetization

At the time of writing, this site does not run advertising and does not accept payment from any lender to be featured, ranked, or described more favorably. If that changes in the future — for example, through affiliate relationships or sponsored content — any such content will be clearly labeled as such, and it will not change the factual accuracy standards described above. Editorial content and any future monetized content will remain clearly separated.

Independence

Loan National ID is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or operated on behalf of the PSA, PhilSys, the SEC, the BSP, the NPC, or any lender or bank mentioned on this site. See our full Disclaimer for details on what this site is and isn't.
